- When she approached the morning-room door, she heard Colonel James Barclay and Nancy Barclay in furious altercation and finds the door locked (CROO 110).
- She reported hearing Nancy Barclay call the Colonel a "coward" repeatedly and demand, "Give me back my life." (CROO 115).
- She also remembered — when pressed by Sherlock Holmes — hearing Nancy Barclay say the name "David" twice, which becomes a key clue for Holmes (CROO 146).
