A Study in Scarlet (1887)
- The cases of Von Bischoff at Frankfort, Mason of Bradford, and the notorious Muller, and Lefevre of Montpellier, and Samson of New Orleans : Sherlock Holmes said that all these would certainly have been hung had the blood stains test been in existence (STUD 130).
