- On the night of the incident, she and Mrs. Barclay attended a Guild of St. George meeting together (CROO 97).
- Walking home, she was present when Nancy Barclay unexpectedly met Henry Wood (the "crooked man") in Hudson Street (CROO 237).
- At first, she denied to the police knowing what caused Nancy Barclay's distress (CROO 158). But when Sherlock Holmes interviewed her and warned that Nancy Barclay could be charged with murder, she changed her mind and told the full story of the street encounter (CROO 227).
