Played at North End on Wednesday, and resulted in favour of the former by an innings with 45 runs to spare. For the visitors Messrs. Pearman, Long and Gayne batted well, and the two former also handled the leather creditably, while for the home team Dr. Doyle, and Messrs. Warren, Agate, and Pate hit freely and effectively, the latter making a hard drive a considerable distance out of the ground. Mr Hemingsley secured eight wickets for 3 runs, Mr. White eight for 40, and Mr. Thomas five for 26. Score:—
