There was an overflowing attendance at Sir A. Conan Doyle's opening lecture in Australia. Many doctors, professors, scientists, and clergymen were in the audience, which was critical and frequently demonstrative.

Sir A. Conan Doyle, who was warmly cheered at the end of the lecture, said he had an important message for Australians, and, by God's help, he hoped to get it across.
