Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, speaking at a Spiritualist service of remembrance held on Sunday at the Queen's Hall, said that they wished the whole human race to have the truth which they had discovered. Peaceful penetration was going on, and their knowledge was filtering down to all. They knew there were miracles, for many of them had seen them, and it was hard for numbers of them to stand by in silence and see people teaching that which was heretical. Reference had been made to statements made by the Bishop of Liverpool, but he gave the Bishop a public challenge to say that God had given power to any man which he was not to use in any circumstances. Could any intelligent reason be given why God should give such power and then withhold permission to use it? If the Bishop would do him the honour he would meet him in Liverpool and debate the subject. Just now, however, was not a time of contention. They must turn to those dear ones who were assembled with them and who, they knew, were quite unchanged.
