The Examiner (San Francisco)

The Examiner is an American daily newspaper from San Francisco (California) founded in 1863 as the Democratic Press, a pro-Confederacy, pro-slavery, pro-Democrat party paper opposed to Abraham Lincoln, but after his assassination in 1865, the paper's offices were destroyed by a mob, and starting on 12 june 1865, it was called the Daily Examiner. On 28 march 1902, the newspaper was renamed The San Francisco Examiner.
Between 1891 and 1894, the newspaper published 16 short stories and 1 novel written by Arthur Conan Doyle.
