The Man Who Murdered Sherlock Holmes is a British documentary produced by the Electric Theatre Productions, written and presented by Richard Jones, released directly to DVD on 22 november 2010, starring Michael Coghlan as Arthur Conan Doyle, and Ken Boyter as Sherlock Holmes. 58 minutes.

The documentary examines the life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle during the 150th anniversary of his birth, exploring the dark and complex influences behind the creation of Sherlock Holmes. It follows Conan Doyle's journey from Edinburgh to Victorian London, linking his experiences, medical background, and the social anxieties of the late 19th and early 20th centuries to the emergence of Holmes as a cultural phenomenon. Through dramatizations and expert commentary, the film investigates why Holmes captivated a changing society and probes Conan Doyle's conflicted relationship with his famous creation, culminating in the question of why he sought to kill off the character who defined his career.
