- Wilson Hargreave was Sherlock Holmes's contact in the New York Police Bureau (DANC 475).
- Sherlock Holmes cabled him to ask him whether the name of Abe Slaney was known to him (DANC 476).
- Wilson Hargreave answered Sherlock Holmes : "The most dangerous crook in Chicago." (DANC 478).
