Eugenia Ronder (Liberty, 22 january 1927)

Fictional character.

In the Sherlock Holmes stories

Eugenia Ronder was a circus girl "brought up on the sawdust", who married Mr. Ronder (VEIL 216).

She lived under his violent abuse (VEIL 218), and helped plan his death with Leonardo (VEIL 236).

During the attempt, a lion mauled her face (VEIL 254, 254), after which she hid herself behind a veil (so "The veiled lodger") and lived in seclusion (VEIL 265).
