  • Leonardo was the strong man of Ronder's circus, and lover of Eugenia Ronder, the veiled lodger (VEIL 229).
  • He had a clever, scheming brain (VEIL 239).
  • He made the nail-studded club meant to mimic a lion's paw (VEIL 243).
  • Later, Eugenia Ronder reported that he died recently: "He was drowned last month when bathing near Margate" (VEIL 285).
