- James Wilder was the Duke of Holdernesse's private secretary (PRIO 191) and his illegitimate son (PRIO 746).
- He engineered Lord Saltire's abduction, with Reuben Hayes, to pressure the Duke into breaking the entail so he could become heir — driven by jealousy and hatred of the legitimate heir (PRIO 783).
