- Lady Hilda was Trelawney Hope's wife and the Duke of Belminster's youngest daughter (SECO 223).
- Under Eduardo Lucas's blackmail, she stole the State letter but later courageously recovered it to save her husband and country (SECO 574).
- Sherlock Holmes restored the letter and concealed Lady Hilda's involvement, never exposing her to her husband or the Prime Minister (SECO 558).
