The Second Stain (1904)
- La Rothière [1] is one of the three leading international spies whom Sherlock Holmes suspected might have taken the document. The two other were Oberstein and Eduardo Lucas (SECO 175).
The Bruce Partington-Plans (1908)
- Louis La Rothière, of Campden Mansions, Notting Hill, was one of the three only agents/spies worth considering. The other were Adolph Meyer, of 13, Great George Street, Westminster, and Hugo Oberstein, 13, Caulfield Gardens, Kensington (BRUC 573).
