• Mike Scanlan was a member of The Scowrers (VALL 2014).

• He was a small, sharp-faced, nervous, black-eyed man (VALL 2185).

• He met John McMurdo on the train, and later became his fellow-boarder and mate among The Scowrers (VALL 3360).

• Scanlan (with John McMurdo) had to put Lawler and Andrews up at their boarding-house for a few days, providing lodgings and comfort until the time for action (VALL 3360).

• He was picked by Ted Baldwin, with Gower, Mansel, and the two Willabys, to take part in the night attack on the Vermissa Herald office (VALL 2937).
