In the Sherlock Holmes stories

  • Mr. Frankland of Lafter Hall was an elderly man, red-faced, white-haired, and choleric (HOUN 1759).
  • His passion was for the British law, and he has spent a large fortune in litigation (HOUN 1761). He was also an amateur astronomer (HOUN 1768).
