- Laura Lyons was Mr. Frankland's daughter from Coombe Tracey (HOUN 2386).
- She had written to Sir Charles Baskerville and made an appointment with him at the very place and hour that he met his death (HOUN 2470).
- Jack Stapleton promised marriage to manipulate Laura Lyons — so she would lure Sir Charles Baskerville to the gate (via her letter) and then be kept away, giving Stapleton the opportunity to act (HOUN 3704).
