In the Sherlock Holmes stories

They were two Rodger Baskerville :

  • Rodger Baskerville (Sir Charles's younger brother) : "The third, Rodger, was the black sheep of the family." And he "fled to Central America, and died there in 1876 of yellow fever" (HOUN 426). Later Sherlock Holmes added he "was said to have died unmarried. He did, as a matter of fact, marry, and had one child," i.e. Jack Stapleton (HOUN 3669).
  • Rodger Baskerville (aka Jack Stapleton; the son) : "He was a son of that Rodger Baskerville, the younger brother of Sir Charles... this fellow, whose real name is the same as his father." (HOUN 3669).
