PARIS, Tuesday.

Frank Heine, who was charged with the forgery of the "secret treaty," which caused a stir recently, has been ordered by an Antwerp Court to pay £30 damages [1] to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle on a charge of plagiarism.

While working for an Antwerp newspaper, Heine wrote a serial story, which was declared to have been based on one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's own stories.

Sir Arthur immediately took proceedings against Heine and the newspaper. — Central News.

  1. The fine was 1.000 Belgian francs so around £5, not £30. The article from The Northern Whig had the correct conversion.
