  • Jephro Rucastle offered an unusually high salary, £120 a year (COPP 143) to work under strange conditions — including cutting her hair short and wearing a particular blue dress (COPP 297).
  • Alert enough to notice suspicious details about the Rucastles, the servants, and the locked, barricaded room in the unused wing, she contacted Sherlock Holmes when she suspected something is seriously wrong (COPP 29).
  • After the events, She became the head of a private school in Walsall and finds professional success (COPP 589).
