On tuesday 2 march 1886, Arthur Conan Doyle attended the lecture "Moses Mendelssohn, his Life and Writings" by Rev. W. Stern at the Portsmouth Literary and Scientific Society (PLSS) meeting held at the Penny-street Lecture Hall (Portsmouth).
