"I Claim No Psychic Power."
Mrs. Victor Spencer, daughter-in-law of Viscountess Churchill, in a telegram from 93, Promenade des Anglais, Nice, to The Daily Mail, denies statements printed in our issue of Tuesday that her painting "The Light" is a spirit picture.
The statements Mrs. Spencer refers to were, apparently:
1. By Sir A. Conan Doyle, who, in a letter, said the picture was "a supreme example of the working of spiritual intelligence through a material mortal frame."
2. By Viscountess Churchill, who said: "I cannot explain it except to express my belief that Mrs. Spencer has strong psychic power."
Mrs. Spencer adds that she claims no psychic power whatever, and that the picture was painted in a normal manner, but without previous training.
