This notecard was written by Arthur Conan Doyle between 1925 and 1929, from 15 Buckingham Palace Mansions, S.W.1 (London), to Albert Kinross, author of "God and Tony Hewitt" (1925).

Notecard

My dear Kinross

I wrote my keen appreciation of Tony Hewitt in the Author's Club. Perhaps it has now reached you.

I wonder if you could carefully read my "Land of Mist" if I sent it to you. I'll do so on the chance tomorrow. As we all have to die it is inconceivable that anyone should not be interested in what follows death. We have it very clearly made out but have ... every sort of ridiculous misrepresentation, clerical, scientific, journalistic and God knows what. But all that is now slowly clearing. I hope that my ten years of unbroken work may have had some share in the change, but it matters little what the ... of if we get the effort across to poor ... humanity which has, in all religions, no same place on which to rest its foot. This is sure and will stand any pressure.

With all best wishes
A. Conan Doyle
