Volunteers and Their Uniform

Sir, — It is difficult to imagine that this discussion about changing the Volunteer uniform to khaki is intended seriously. Why should we change our uniforms when we have only, at considerable cost, succeeded in clothing ourselves? And why should we abandon what is associated with all our honourable work? I am convinced that such an idea would be most unpopular with the force.
