- Anna Coram, the wife of Professor Coram, was a former revolutionary Russian nihilist (GOLD 549).
- She was betrayed by her husband who hid letters and her diary that would have saved Alexis. As a result, Alexis was sent to Siberia as a convict (GOLD 551).
- While seeking papers in Coram's bureau to free Alexis, she accidentally killed Willoughby Smith during her escape (GOLD 574).
