• Brenda Tregennis was the victim of her brother Mortimer Tregennis, poisoned by the devil's-foot fumes (DEVI 44).

• She was from a former tin-miner family from Redruth (DEVI 93). She had three brothers : Mortimer Tregennis, George Tregennis and Owen Tregennis (DEVI 44).

• She was very beautiful, with a dark, clear-cut face (DEVI 157).

• Her lover Dr. Leon Sterndale killed Mortimer Tregennis as a revenge using the same poison (DEVI 31).
