  • He participated to the Worthingdon Bank where the caretaker Tobin was murdered (RESI 381).

The Hound of the Baskervilles (1901)

  • Cartwright was a young boy of fourteen, with a bright, keen face, employed at the Northumberland Hotel where Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson were staying in London (HOUN 825).
  • Sherlock Holmes sent Cartwright visit 23 hotels around Charing Cross to trace old issues of the Times newspaper to find out who cut out words to create the warning note sent to Sir Henry (HOUN 834).
