- He participated to the 1875 Worthingdon Bank robbery where the caretaker Tobin was murdered (RESI 381).
- After Blessington betrayed his gang turning informer, his accomplices Biddle, Hayward and Moffat were sentenced to 15 years in prison and Cartwright was hanged (RESI 383).
- Sherlock Holmes said he was the "worst" of the The Worthingdon Bank Gang (RESI 308).
