- John Hebron was a lawyer in Atlanta, Georgia (YELL 121), described as "strikingly handsome and intelligent" and "a nobler man never walked the earth" but bearing unmistakable signs upon his features of his African descent (YELL 409).
- He was the first husband of Effie Munro (YELL 410) and they had a daughter Lucy Hebron (YELL 413).
