- Jules Vibart was the head waiter at the National Hotel, Lausanne, engaged to Marie Devine (LADY 98).
- He supplied Dr. Watson with Marie's address : 11, Rue de Trajan, Montpellier (LADY 98).
- He reported the visit of a "tall, dark, bearded" Englishman — "un sauvage" (Philip Green) — linking that visit to Lady Frances Carfax's sudden departure (LADY 109).
