In the Sherlock Holmes stories
- Old Acton was a magnate living near Reigate. His house was burglarized by Alec Cunningham and Mr. Cunningham (REIG 18).
- He had some claim on half Cunningham's estate, and the lawyers have been at it with both hands (REIG 70).
