• Alec Cunningham was the son of Mr. Cunningham, a Justice of the Peace (REIG 45).

• He was living with his father in a large Queen Anne house near Reigate (REIG 193).

• He was a dashing young fellow, whose bright, smiling expression and showy dress (REIG 204).

• With his father, he burglarized Mr. Acton's house to find legal documents (REIG 411).

• He shotted William Kirwan, who witnessed the burglary, to stop his blackmail (REIG 48).

• He attacked Sherlock Holmes when he was searching Alec's dressing-gown for the missing part of the note (REIG 317).
