In the Sherlock Holmes stories
- Mr. Warren was the husband of the Bloomsbury landlady who had Emilia Lucca as lodger in Great Orme Street (REDC 462).
- He was assaulted by error by the Red Circle assailants, who mistook him for the secret lodger (Emilia Lucca) and they dumped him on Hampstead Heath (REDC 207).
