  • Murphy was a gipsy horse-dealer. When he was on the moor at no great distance of Baskerville Hall he heard a cry when Sir Charles Baskerville died (HOUN 265).

The Valley of Fear (1914)

  • Murphy was an acquaintance of John McMurdo who gave him the address of the Shafter household in Chicago (VALL 2152).
