In the Sherlock Holmes stories
- Poncho was the mustang horse of Lucy Ferrier (STUD 2169).
- While riding Poncho, Lucy tried to pass a great drove of cattle, but the horse was frightened by the cows and went into a cavalcade (STUD 1710). She was saved by Jefferson Hope (STUD 1720).
