Letter to Sir Courtenay about his involvement in spiritualism

From The Arthur Conan Doyle Encyclopedia

This letter was written by Arthur Conan Doyle to Sir Courtenay Cecil Mansel about his involvment into spiritualism. Undated (circa 1920).

Dear Sir Courtenay,

If I can help you in this — the most important thing in the world — I shall be happy.

I think a good grounding of knowledge is needed before actual experiment. I don't know how far you have this. I have marked a few recent books which — or some of which — should be read.

Then I would give you the names of some honest reliable clairvoyants. If you are going seriously into the matter you should join the psychic College, the only place where you get comfortable high class facilities for seances &c.

Yours sincerely

A Conan Doyle

I would meet you when you are in town.
