Sir Arthur Conan Doyle visited Jackie Coogan on the set of the film Long Live the King in production at the Metro Studios (1923)

Jackie Coogan (26 october 1914 - 1 march 1984) was an American actor, wellknown for playing the child in the Charlie Chaplin's The Kid and Uncle Fester in The Addams Family TV series.

In 1923, Jackie, aged 9, starring Crown Prince Ferdinand William Otto in Long Live the King at the Metro Studios met Sir Arthur Conan Doyle on the set of the film (see photo).

Forty-two years later, in 1965, he played Uncle Fester in The Addams Family: Thing is Missing with John Astin as Gomez Addams / Sherlock Holmes. He also played the Haymarket Proprietor in the movie Sherlock Holmes in New York in 1976 with Roger Moore as Sherlock Holmes.
