McClure's Magazine was an American monthly magazine published between June 1893 and March 1929. The magazine was created by S. S. McClure (1857-1949) and John S. Philips (1861-1949). From 1906, after some disagreements between contributors and editors, the contributors decided to quit and created The American Magazine, which accelerated the McClure's Magazine fall. In 1911, it is sold to creditors and became a ladie's journal.
Between 1893 and 1902, the magazine published 14 short stories, 2 interviews and 5 articles written by Arthur Conan Doyle. 3 short stories for the first time : The Slapping Sal, A Foreign Office Romance, The Leather Funnel.
