Fictional character.
In the Sherlock Holmes stories
- He was the brother of Sophy Kratides (GREE 425).
- He was kidnapped by Harold Latimer and Wilson Kemp, imprisoned and tortured to make him sign away his own and his sister’s property (GREE 425).
- When Latimer and Kemp fled, they attempted to murder him (and Mr. Melas) by leaving them locked in a charcoal-filled room with poisonous exhalation. Paul Kratides didn't survive, but Mr. Melas was rescued by Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson, Mycroft Holmes, and Inspector Gregson (GREE 400).
